Often when customers are browsing the fine jewelry case at Gemstone Creations they will point at certain rings and pendants and say, “Are those colored diamonds? I didn’t know that diamonds came in colors other than white.”
Diamonds do come in all different colors, even black, and we have carried natural fancy yellow and champagne diamonds for years – even before they became popular.
The most popular colors are yellow and brown, which can also be called champagne or cognac. The rarest, and most expensive, colors are red, green and even purple.
A few years ago at a jewelry show we saw a less than one carat natural green diamond that the dealer told us could sell for close to one million dollars and he told us about a natural red diamond that he possessed that his insurance company would not let him take out of his office because of the value.
If you were watching the news recently, a 110 carat pear shaped vivid yellow diamond recently was sold at auction for approximately 12 million dollars!
While we don’t carry diamonds with that type of value if you asked us if we have colored diamonds we can confidently tell you that yes, we have had them for a long time and they are gorgeous in all types of mountings or settings. We currently have a nice selection of yellows, champagnes, and pieces featuring black and white diamonds, all of which can add color and sparkle to your jewelry collection.
So, do you have colored diamonds? You bet we do. Stop in and see.
